I am new to model trains and I think this is the way to go, so would like to go this way instead of DCC, Since I don't have any control system yet for my trains, I thought I would just invest in this technology instead of others since I am starting with nothing. .Most of the locomotives that I have collected so far are steam locos. I was wondering if there was a release date for the module with Steam locomotive sound decoders? I am especially interested in British Steam engines such as the Flying Scotsman or the Mallard but any steam sounds will work.
I was also interested to know if the diesel module be used for a steam loco by simply changing the sounds?
Thank you for any help.

We are pleased to announce that the steam specific firmware and sounds are now available starting with the app update 2.35.
Thank you for your interest in LocoFiâ„¢. Going with LocoFiâ„¢ especially for a new layout certainly makes sense.
We hope to release the steam sound specific modules towards the end of 2021. The current diesel sound specific modules cannot be used for steam sounds. However, we expect to have the newer modules interoperable between diesel and steam scheme of sounds.
