Hello, I recently installed the LocoFi app as i am planning on getting some decoders and wanted to take a look around and kick some tires. After installation I looked on every page I could get to without connecting to a locomotive and could not find the current app software version listed anywhere. I wasn't sure what version was installed. I am requesting that the current installed app version be listed in settings as that seems the most appropriate place to put it. Having it on the splash screen wouldn't hurt either. Just my 2 cent suggestion .
Thanks
Jesse
We are pleased to announce that the 'app version' is now available via the app interface starting with the app update 2.35. From the main screen, simply click the three dots on top right for extended menu options and tap 'About App' to see the app version information (see screenshots below).
And in case you missed it, with the app update 2.25 also comes the steam sound appropriate firmware and sounds!
This is yet another example that shows how LocoFi goes beyond the tradition not only in technology but also take customer feedback into consideration. Cheers!
Hello Jesse,
Absolutely! You're spot on. We've certainly considered it. It is something that should have been present from the beginning. If you'll notice, we do have a way to report the firmware version of the locomotive but not the app.
However, there's a reason we have not made it a priority yet. While it may not be a lot of work, it certainly does amount to something especially when the resources are scarce, and time is of utmost importance with so many projects in the pipeline.
Here's the thing. You can always get this information from the Google Play Store! While it will be extremely convenient (especially if you're not connected to the internet) to get this info right from the app, we've not made it a high priority as long as there's a reasonable workaround.
Hope that explains our reasoning. Rest assured, we will get to it eventually.
