I just posted an 8th YouTube video featuring LocoFi™ in a Dead Rail/Battery on Board operation.
The 8th Video is Titled:
Making and Using a Portable Dead Rail Demonstration HO Layout - Part 8
Part 8 Includes:
The results from my continued battery research. This section includes a demonstration of an even better and SAFER way to power LocoFi™ and a locomotive using four 10440 size Lithium Iron Phosphate (AKA LiFePO4/LiFe/LFP/IFR) batteries in two 2-slot AAA battery boxes in a “trailing” battery car.
Near the end of the informational video, there are three short video clips showing how slowly and easily LocoFi™ and battery power handle running very slowly through multiple turnouts. The extremely slow speed capability of the LocoFi™ decoder with battery power, still amazes me.
My Webpage has a lot more information on this and related topics.
It is titled, “A Journey Into HO Scale Model Railroading in the 21st Century”.
The page has been, once again, massively updated and contains information that is NOT in any of the YouTube videos.
It also contains information that has has been garnered since the original videos were posted, including several corrections.
I am getting 45 minutes of Prototypical Actual Run Time, on my demo layout, using 4 Lithium Iron Phosphate 10440 size batteries.
For those suffering from “range anxiety” with only a 45 minute run time, the section of my Webpage titled “How Long Is a Typical Operating Session's Run Time?” covers my thoughts on this topic.
